Our Master Brewer Stuart set out a task for our brewer Lisa to create an IPA that didn’t use the heavily sought-after hop varieties such as Citra, Simcoe and Cascade but it was still to have a strong citrus aroma that the IPA style is known for.
Lisa, the latest addition to the Harviestoun family, took to this task with great passion and used her knowledge to test out different hops to achieve a crisp, fruity and juicy session IPA. Lisa used Centennial hops (which inspired the beer name) for aroma to give light floral notes with some citrus and also Eureka hops to add a tropical fruit juiciness. For bitterness she chose Magnum and Waimea hops which gives a crisp, clean bitterness and a pleasing lasting finish.
A heavenly flair, indeed!
